Domain specialization due results from the existing marketing skills, existing customer base, problem knowledge and technology specialization. The company's founders and the first employees were engineers with vast experience in development, implementation and maintenance of the cadastral and geographic information systems, on different hardware platforms.

Do to the flexibility to the current trends in computer industry and information technologies, IGEA developes open information systems, characterised by the open operating environments, client/server application architecture, graphical user interface and distributed data access based on relational DBMS. Closely following current industry standards, IGEA offers customers the open operating environment of their choice, i.e. Windows/DOS, UNIX and Windows NT, the trend for the 90's. IGEA's leading software product is the Parcel Based Open GIS, a client/server package based on the Oracle database. Parcel Based GIS includes several modules using the same database structure. The Land Cadastre and the Land Registry modules of Parcel Based GIS are designed to support transaction processing and operation control of the land cadastre and land registry offices in Croatia. Utilities Management, Urban Planning and Real Estate Management modules answer the needs of central and local government offices, utility companies and private agencies. They are based on the public data of the land cadastre and land registry and the domain specific geography-based and attribute data.
